नागेन्द्रहाराय त्रिलोचनाय
भस्माङ्गरागाय महेश्वराय ।
नित्याय शुद्धाय दिगम्बराय
तस्मै नकाराय नमः शिवाय ॥१॥
मन्दाकिनीसलिलचन्दनचर्चिताय
नन्दीश्वरप्रमथनाथमहेश्वराय ।
मन्दारपुष्पबहुपुष्पसुपूजिताय
तस्मै मकाराय नमः शिवाय ॥२॥
शिवाय गौरीवदनाब्जवृन्दसूर्याय
दक्षाध्वरनाशकाय ।
श्रीनीलकण्ठाय वृषध्वजाय
तस्मै शिकाराय नमः शिवाय ॥३॥
वशिष्ठकुम्भोद्भवगौतमार्यमूनीन्द्रदेवार्चितशेखराय ।
चन्द्रार्कवैश्वानरलोचनाय
तस्मै वकाराय नमः शिवाय ॥४॥
यज्ञस्वरूपाय जटाधराय
पिनाकहस्ताय सनातनाय ।
दिव्याय देवाय दिगम्बराय
तस्मै यकाराय नमः शिवाय ॥५॥
पञ्चाक्षरमिदं पुण्यं यः पठेच्छिवसंनिधौ ।
शिवलोकमावाप्नोति शिवेन सह मोदते ॥६॥
Meaning in ENGLISH
He who wears the serpent as his garland and possesses three eyes,
He whose body is adorned with holy ashes and is the mighty Lord,
He who is timeless, eternally pure, with the cardinal directions as his attire,
Salutations to that Shiva, symbolized by the syllable “na”
He who receives worship with water from Mandakini river and anointed with sandalwood paste,
He who commands Nandi and the spirits, the supreme Lord,
He who is adorned with Mandara and various flowers,
Salutations to that Shiva, symbolized by the syllable “ma”
He who brings auspiciousness, like the dawn blooming the lotus-face of Gauri,
He who thwarted Daksha’s sacrifice,
He who bears a blue throat and rides a bull,
Salutations to that Shiva, symbolized by the syllable “shi”
He who is revered by great sages – Vasishtha, Agastya, and Gautama, and by the celestial beings, the pinnacle of the universe,
He who possesses the moon, sun, and fire as his triple eyes,
Salutations to that Shiva, symbolized by the syllable “va”
He who embodies sacrifice and sports matted hair,
He who wields the trident and abides eternally,
He who is divine, radiant, with the cardinal directions as his attire,
Salutations to that Shiva, symbolized by the syllable “ya”
Whoever chants this Panchakshara near Shiva,
Shall attain Shiva’s realm and revel in bliss.
